DIGITAL | Audiovisual Entrainment Performance
DIGITAL was a live audiovisual performance presented at The Lightbox Gallery, Leicester, for the launch of the DIGITAL programme in December 2021.
Combining original electronic compositions with synchronised visual systems, the performance explored the relationship between sound, light and perception through an evolving sequence of immersive audiovisual environments. Audio-reactive visuals and rhythmic pulses of light transformed the gallery into a shared sensory experience, inviting audiences to engage with shifting states of attention, atmosphere and intensity.
Developed as an experiment in live audiovisual performance, the work investigated how simple visual and sonic structures could influence the perception of time, space and duration. Rather than presenting sound and image as separate elements, the performance treated them as a unified system unfolding in real time.
The project formed part of an early exploration into immersive environments and collective experience. Ideas first tested through live audiovisual performances such as DIGITAL continue to inform my installation practice today, where light, sound and responsive systems are used to shape audience experience within physical space.
