Crystal System is an immersive collaborative installation that invites viewers to explore new perspectives on existence and our connection to the world around us. This dynamic, multi-faceted installation uses refracted and reflected light to create a meditative space for contemplation within an interactive sculptural environment.
The installation combines a bespoke wooden sculptural framework with responsive elements that react to audience presence, offering moments of quiet reflection through the interplay of light and form. Originally developed for the Light up Leicester festival, Crystal System was installed at the Institute Research Lab, Baxter Gate, Loughborough, where it continues to engage visitors as part of the inaugural Loughborough Lates — a new MPND initiative.
This new cultural programme brings free visual art exhibitions, creative workshops, and interactive events to the local community, fostering new connections between art, technology, and public engagement.
