Arpegiyo | Islington Assembly Hall
Originally developed for a collaborative performance supporting Maybeshewill and CLT DRP at London's Islington Assembly Hall, Arpegiyo combines immersive sound and audio-reactive visuals within a contemplative audiovisual environment.
Created in collaboration with Leonie DuBarry-Gurr, Luke Broughton, David Conrad Dhonau and Matt Rogerson, the work explores rhythm, texture and atmosphere through evolving electronic composition and real-time visual systems. Visuals were generated using TouchDesigner and Ableton Live, creating a direct relationship between sound and image throughout the performance.
The title reflects my heritage. Arpegiyo is a Hindi translation of arpeggio, derived from the Italian arpeggiare, meaning "to play on a harp".
Developed through collaboration and live performance, Arpegiyo helped gradually to establish a working methodology that continues throughout my practice today. The integration of sound, real-time visuals and spatial experience became a foundation for later installation projects that blur the boundaries between performance, sculpture and immersive media.
