I produced a series of 360 degree videos for the VR project, "Cubing the sphere" for VRHAM '21 in collaboration with Dave Stitch. These videos can either be viewed through a traditional browser, using Cardboard or on any VR headset using youtube VR.
The section of 360 degree videos below document the development of this project.   VR videos require a very high output - ideally 12K or more.  We weren't always able to output our work at this size, so we were forced to find creative solutions to get around this issue. In some cases, repeating the video through tessellation not only solved this issue, but also generated a new and unexpected aesthetic.  In some cases, I adding extra particle field's to the composition - the end result is an experience that feels even more immersive & detailed in VR.
