VR Experience | Cubing the Sphere
Cubing the Sphere 360 Videos is a series of immersive audiovisual experiments developed alongside the wider Cubing the Sphere mixed reality project.
Created for viewing in virtual reality headsets, browsers and mobile devices, the works combine spatial audio with generative visual systems to create navigable audiovisual environments. Rather than presenting a fixed viewpoint, the 360° format encourages audiences to explore compositions through movement and observation.
Developed during a period of experimentation with virtual and augmented reality, the project investigated how sound, visual form and spatial perception could be combined within immersive media. The resulting works informed later explorations of responsive environments, participation and spatial experience that continue throughout my practice today.
Technical Development
Working within the constraints of high-resolution VR production led to a series of experiments with tessellation, particle systems and procedural visual techniques. These technical investigations became creative tools in their own right, generating many of the visual languages later used throughout my audiovisual and installation work.
