Experiments - Pinglato

This section brings together ongoing experiments across digital media, spatial audio, augmented reality and interactive systems. While distinct from Harper's installation practice, these works explore many of the same interests: perception, atmosphere, participation and the relationship between people, technology and place.

Experiments - Pinglato
An experimental exploration of grief and memory through virtual world construction, developed as a collaborative audiovisual piece with Dave Stitch. This project investigates the potential for creating audio-reactive content within virtual environments, using immersive 3D spaces to translate emotional landscapes into interactive digital experiences.
The work combines algorithmic visual generation with spatial audio design, creating environments that respond dynamically to sonic input. Virtual landscapes shift and evolve in real-time, with particle systems, lighting, and geometric forms reacting to frequency content and amplitude changes in the musical composition.
Pinglato examines how virtual worlds can serve as containers for complex emotional narratives, allowing abstract concepts like loss and remembrance to be experienced through navigable digital spaces. The project represents an early investigation into the intersection of procedural world-building, real-time audio analysis, and immersive storytelling.
